More Nail Mail Coming Soon!

For my birthday, I got an amazon gift card. With it, yesterday, I bought a camera case, makeup brushes, chapstick, adidas slides, a BH cosmetics eyeshadow palette (120 colors), Maybelline XXL mascara, and the Nailtek 3 step transition kit.

Why did I get such random things you ask? Here's exactly why. I bought a camera case because I just got a new camera (its touchscreen!). I got makeup brushes because I dont have that many. I bought the chapstick because I only had like $2 left and that is pretty much the only thing I could buy. I bought the adidas slides because my nike ones are getting small. I got an eyeshadow palette because I wanted more options. I got the mascara because it is said to be one of the best. Finally, I got the nailtek because it is not only highly recommended, but my nails are so short and weak! I hope this works!

As of now, I still have my white nail polish on. Surprising, right? Well, i do.

Do you have any of the products I ordered? I want to know what you think!

Everyone Needs A Boring Mani Once In A While...

I've been sick and in bed for a few days so yes.... This is a really boring mani. It's just plain white *yawns*. It really compliments my skintone (or any skintone) though. It makes me look tanner than I really am. Maybe, I'll add sparkles later or some nail art.... Anyways, here it is

This is 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. It is just a plain ol' stark white with no yellow undertones. *yawns* this isn't a cream or off white in any sense. I actually like it a lot though!

Have you ever worn plain white? Do you like it?

My Birthday Mani!

My birthday is tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!! In honor of my b-day, I did b-day nails! This is what I usually do on special occasions.... I write what it is on my nails! Today, they say "Its my B-day" and on the thumb it says "13"! Lets see what I'm talking about:

For the base, I used a purple franken I made. I used a Stripe Rite nail striper in white for the letters and numbers. I topped it all with 2 coats of Nubar 2010. I like it! Imo, it's a great and festive birthday mani!

What do you think? I wanna know!

Spongebob Turns Blue???

No..... Our yellow friend who lives in Bikini Bottom is not turning blue. I just named it that because I sponged my nails with blue. I like the result but it isnt as dramatic as some other possible sponges. Enough with the talking.... lets get swatching!

I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Blue Me Away for the base. To sponge I used Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, NYC Cashmere Creme (which is not a creme! It is a sheer metalic frost!), and Delias Gold. I also used my Essie Matte About You topcoat.

I like this manicure but expect another one tomorrow or friday because friday is my birthday!!!
Also sorry for the bad pictures so far.... I want a new camera for my birthday

What do you think? Love it, hate it? I wanna know!

Nabi Neon Yellow?

This nail polish is called neon yellow and it is obviously not neon. Honestly, I don't care. I was just looking for an opaque sunshiny yellow! Sadly, this isn't exactly what I would call opaque. It's not terribly sheer but just not the super opaque, vibrant, two coat (or 1) yellow I wanted. Take a look:

This was a 3 coats and i can still see some nail through (granted the fact i still had some polish on). It is not really what I was looking for in the eye of opacity but its a nice yellow. Not a neon yellow for sure, but still quite vibrant!

Sorry for the blurry picture. I'm not sure if you can see... It says on the bottle "The best nail polish I've ever used". I don't know about that Nabi. Maybe that is a little far fetched.....

Anyways, Do you own this polish? what do you think of it? Is it the best polish you've ever used?

I Got Mail.... NAIL MAIL!

Well the title pretty much explains it all! I got my Essie Matte About You and Nubar 2010. Nubar 2010 is supposed to be a Hidden Treasure dupe but I don't have one to compare (I want one though!) I also got my Nabi Yellow today but I didn't swatch it yet. You can expect a post about that soon. I had a red nail polish lying around so I created this:

AHHHH! MATTE FLAKES ARE AWESOME!!!!! So I used a Shades of The Season unnamed red (did i mention how much I hate unnamed polishes?), Nubar 2010, and then topped it with Essie Matte About You... It gives such a cool effect! The flakies didn't loose any of their flaky duochrome-y goodness while matte. They flash red, orange, yellow, gold, and green! I couldn't capture the green that well because that only shows in sunlight.... Amazing though! I love it! Nubar 2010 is a must have if you can't find Hidden Treasure. (No wonder it's called HIDDEN treasure lol)

In any event, this is a great combo and I can't wait to see it over black!

Fake Tips and French Manicures

I got my first fake tips put on yesterday. They are not that long but its still hard to type. It's hard to get used to me having actual normal sized nails. I want to grow them out this height. Too bad they will probably be really weak when I take off the tips in 2 or 3 days. Anyways, I decided to go with a classic french with a twist. I used a coat of Orly Love Each Other when I got home. It is a clear base with subtle purple shimmer that I couldn't capture well. I tried my hardest! Well I will quit talking and show you what I mean.

I didn't capture the shimmer but it is really pretty and adds a nice touch to this plain french manicure. The nail technician used OPI Alpine Snow and a plain Essie topcoat that seems to be a bit thick and old, seeing that it was almost empty and didn't leave my nails shiny. I think she did a good job on the length though! What do you think?

Happy Polishing,

P.S. I am supposed to get my Matte About You, Nubar 2010, and Nabi Yellow any time now.... Swatches will be shown soon.

Crackle and Gerald!

Hey Guys! Yesterday I got my pillow pet blanket! I named him Gerald
So I also got a cuticle remover from Sally Hansen that was supposed to be big.... and it is like the height of my pointer finger! For $5 off of amazon... I am really upset. But for those of you who only care about my nails... here's my NOTD
Nope it's not Halloween.... (I actually didn't notice it when I was doing my nails) I just wanted an orange mani with black crackle! So I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Sunkissed and 1 fairly thin coat of China Glaze Crackle in Black Mesh.

Have a GREAT DAY guys!
-Amanda <3

P.S. I am getting fake nails put on today for just like 3 or 4 days so in my next post, dont freak out if my nails grew suspiciously longer!

NOTD - Water Marble Fail.....?

Hey Guys! Today I have a failed water marble for you.... Cut me some slack, it's only my second time!
I used 2 unnamed Shades of The Season in a red and a black. Don't you just love unnamed nail polishes? At least they are nice and opaque in 1 coat or 2 if you're not careful! I also used an NYC color in Cashmere Creme which is sort of sheer.
In any event, I think we can all agree that this is a failed mani but I'll try again later :)

So what do you think? Fail or what?
